Christopher Too is the Organ Scholar at Westminster Cathedral, where he plays for a large proportion of the daily Masses and Offices alongside what is widely considered to be one of the finest choirs in the world. Brought up in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, Chris began organ lessons as a chorister at Bridlington Priory under the then newly-founded Dr Martin Clarke Young Organ Scholars Trust, and was educated at Ampleforth College. After leaving school, Chris spent his gap year as the Organ Scholar at Gloucester Cathedral. From 2019, Chris was the Junior Organ Scholar at King’s College, Cambridge under Daniel Hyde, accompanying the world-famous choir for their daily pattern of services and touring with The King’s Men, whilst studying for his Music degree and receiving organ lessons from Margaret Phillips. Chris subsequently took up the Organ Scholarship at Jesus College, where he performed with the choir for a number of concerts and special services, including tours around the UK and Paris. After graduating from Cambridge, Chris spent a year at Salisbury Cathedral where he gained his FRCO. Alongside his growing portfolio as a skilled accompanist, Chris has performed as a recitalist in venues across the UK including York Minster, Bridlington Priory, King’s College, Cambridge and Westminster Cathedral, and has played for broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. Chris is looking forward to joining the music team at St Paul’s Cathedral in September 2024.
