Music and Worship

Once a month the Ragtag Minstrels accompany our sung worship and for the rest of the month music is led by electric piano, occasionally accompanied by singers.

Groups, Courses and Activities

Addiction advice is provided out of MASCOT and AA meet at St Michael's.

Our pop-up cafe serves a free healthy tea, fun games and a simple craft activity aimed at Sheerwater's primary school aged children and their parents/carers. Every Tuesday in term time at 3-4.30pm.

Following on from Alpha, we formed COW (Church on Wednesday) which is a midweek group for those wanting to explore and/or grow faith in a relaxed setting where questions are encouraged. We meet at 9.30am for refreshments, bible study, prayer and mutual support.

As well as COW, we join with Churches Together for Advent and Lent groups and other opportunities for prayer and bible study.

There is an active CAP group locally which we can signpost.

We host a popular community lunch after the Sunday service on the 4th Sunday of each month. We make a small charge (£6/3) for an adult/child 2 course meal but we never let finances stop people eating. Book in at the office by the Friday with details of any allergies.

Our strapline is 'Feeding Faith and Growing Community' so you can expect a lot of community events run with other local community organisations: MASCOT, Shopwise, Foodwise, Helping Hands, Woking Borough Council's community team etc.

MASCOT is our community organisation through which we signpost debt advice.

Our community organisation, MASCOT, provides advice and a number of employment based courses at the Hub on Dartmouth Avenue.

We put on activities for families with our community partners during school holidays. These are usually events that youngesters attend with their parents/carers.

Help with housing issues is provided through the MASCOT Hub.

Mental health support is provided through the MASCOT Hub.

Tots Praise meets at 10am on Thursdays in term time. There is half an hour of singing with a simple bible story and prayer. We then have refreshments and the toys come out. A local mum provides a craft activity and it's always a lot of fun!

We are currently exploring whether we can set up a breakfast club. Do get in touch with the office if you're interested.

St Michael's is an Anglican/Methodist partnership and a member of Inclusive Church. We seek to be fully inclusive and our church council unanimously agreed to use the prayers of love and faith. We long for the day when our LGBTQIA friends will be able to marry in our church but the Church of England does not permit that yet. You will find a warm welcome with us and we can point you to our nearby Methodist church (Trinity) in Woking town centre for your same sex marriage.
