Our theme for the service continued our exploration of the Parables, this week we explored the parable of The Growing Seed (Mark 4:26-29). Click here to listen.Friday 17th JuneSTOP, GRIP, REALLY GRIP, wellbeingOver the next few days, if you are able, stop and grip something like a door handle, a table edge, a cushion or a tree branch, really grip it. Close your eyes and take notice of what you feel and the pressure on the pads of your fingers and hand. What does it feel like? Can you feel the tenseness of your muscles as you grip? This stopping and just noticing something that you probably don’t general take note of creates a soul moment, which is good for our wellbeing.
It has been great to meet in person again after some 14 months of online gathering only! For the last two Sundays we have met for Outdoor Church around the campfire in the school grounds. The first Sunday we were wind swept and cold (coats and blankets) as we celebrated Pentecost together. The wind and fire very much helped with the exploration of the Pentecost story. The cooking challenge was to bake a chocolate cake in an orange! The following Sunday was scorching (T-shirts and sunhats) as we looked at Jesus' parable about the wheat and the weeds. Being in the school field near the nature area was great as went searching for 5 different plants/grasses to help with our exploration of the parable. The cooking challenge was to bake bananas and... yes you guessed it chocolate. All very much enjoyed!It has been really great to gather in person again. We will continue to meet outside, alongside once-a-month Home Church Sunday's and the occasional online service. Keep a watch of the website for what is happening each Sunday, as it is still hard to plan ahead during these changing times.
