It has been great to meet in person again after some 14 months of online gathering only! For the last two Sundays we have met for Outdoor Church around the campfire in the school grounds. The first Sunday we were wind swept and cold (coats and blankets) as we celebrated Pentecost together. The wind and fire very much helped with the exploration of the Pentecost story. The cooking challenge was to bake a chocolate cake in an orange! The following Sunday was scorching (T-shirts and sunhats) as we looked at Jesus' parable about the wheat and the weeds. Being in the school field near the nature area was great as went searching for 5 different plants/grasses to help with our exploration of the parable. The cooking challenge was to bake bananas and... yes you guessed it chocolate. All very much enjoyed!
It has been really great to gather in person again. We will continue to meet outside, alongside once-a-month Home Church Sunday's and the occasional online service. Keep a watch of the website for what is happening each Sunday, as it is still hard to plan ahead during these changing times.
