Look out for the Deckchair Listening Project
This Summer, keep an eye out for the Deckchair Listening Project popping up as Pathfinder Church and the Northstowe Church Network join in with a whole range of excellent community events. Already, the Deckchairs were popular with supporters as they joined us cheering on the runners at April’s Northstowe Half: we loved it when runners danced along to our music as they passed by!
We’ll be taking the Deckchairs to the Midsummer Festival (22nd June), Pathfinder School Fete (5th July), and be at the next Community Afternoon Tea (14th July 3.30pm in The Pathfinder CofE Primary School Hall).
At each event, we’ll have a different Big Question to ponder, and usually an opportunity to join us in creating a piece of community-art that captures something special about Northstowe. (Did you see our giant map at the opening of the Community Centre last year?)
Other ways to connect
Those of us gathering as part of our various new communities in the Northstowe Church Network come from all Christian traditions as well as those new to Christianity: together we are pilgrims on a journey, asking questions and exploring the connections we find between everyday life and our spirituality and faith. We are a partnership of the Church of England, United Reformed Church, and Baptist Union, and share a vision with the Methodists and Quakers.
So whatever your background, and whether you are seeking quiet reflection, midweek groups, or interactive and multisensory Sunday worship, you are welcome and invited to try out one of our regular events:
Term Time Church Gatherings (until 14th July)
Pathfinder Church’s Sunday Gatherings: 3.30-5pm in The Pathfinder CofE Primary School
Compline (Night Prayer): fortnightly on Thursdays at 8pm (venue on request)
Little Explorers: 9.15-10.45am on Thursdays in The Pathfinder CofE Primary School
