Sarah Hoyle and Peter Bloodworth, despite recovering from recent surgery, at todays Churchyard Conference in Bradford. The conference explored how to make the most of churchyards, including speakers from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. A new churchyard toolkit was launched which explores its potential as a haven of biodiversity; an educational/heritage resource and family friendly space; and as a space for quiet reflection.4/10/23

We were pleased to welcome our friends from St. Mary’s Church, Embsay, North Yorkshire. We spent a lovely afternoon sharing learning about Eco Church. We discussed under pew heating and their plans to do the same. We had a walk around the churchyard and Quiet Garden looking at how we are promoting biodiversity. Embsay are one of the first churches in Yorkshire to be recognised by A Rocha with an Eco Church Gold Award.

1/10/23
