Hedgehogs are ready for hibernation this time of year and can crawl into piles of wood. When lighting a bonfire look for any signs that one has crawled inside.
Hedgehogs can have water, dog and cat food but don’t give them milk or leave out discarded pumpkins as it upsets their tummies.
Making a hedgehog home is simple, and can be done by using a plant pot, foliage and leaves. Always ensure that the pot is large enough for them to get in and out. Instructions can be found on YouTube ‘How to build a hedgehog house’
