We are grateful for the work of the Methley Wombles a group of volunteers who go around the village collecting discarded rubbish. This weekend the Methley Wombles also helped clear accumulated rubbish which has blown in or been discarded in the churchyard. We heard during Creationtide the impact of accumulated plastics around the world, particularly in the sea. This is also a problem in the churchyard where plastic placed on graves can be blown around and in some cases fragment into the soil.
