Easter Vigil and Dawn Service of Light with Holy Communion

An emotional and symbolic Easter morning service in three parts:

We start in the Church Hall at 6am for a period of stillness and waiting, in the dawn's early light, remembering God's promises to Israel. We will sit in silence, with occasional readings. This is to prepare us for the coming joy!

We then move outdoors to greet the morning with the Easter Candle and Acclamation, "Christ is Risen!" There will be a dawn fire and then we process into church.

Once in the main church, the service turns to the joy and delight of Easter. We will sing together, hear the story of Jesus' resurrection, and share communion together. There will be a renewal of Baptismal Vows.

This is often described as one of the most magical services of the year - the early start is paid off with the sense of wonder.

After the Dawn Service we will share breakfast together....contact us if you're interested!

Why not come along in 2024 to find God, find friends, and find yourself!

God is doing a new thing in east Leeds. After receiving a new vicar, Rolf, and a small planting team from St Matts, Burley in May 2022, we continue to seek a fresh vision for the church. In January 2023 we became a separate parish of our own. We have seen exciting growth: our worshipping community is growing, our journey of discipleship is deepening, and our service to the local community expands. During 2023 we set up a Toddler Group, a community cafe, and are happy to host a Foodbank.

Into 204 we're excited to see what God is doing: we want to seek Jesus in worship and service.

As a community of Christians, we are committed to three priorities: worship - making Sundays unmissable with Jesus at the centre, refreshing our rhythms of anglican worship; evangelism - seeking to offer a confident invitation to church and to following Jesus, while increasing our profile and service across the community; and children and young people - serving those in our church, in our schools, and in our community.
