Hampsthwaite: St Thomas a Becket
A warm welcome awaits you at St Thomas a Becket church in the lovely village of Hampsthwaite.

Holy Communion services are held in Hampsthwaite on the first and third Sundays of every month, starting at 11am. On the second Sunday of each month there is a Holy Communion service at Felliscliffe Chapel, which starts at 9am. Holy Communion services are also held in the other churches in our Benefice; Killinghall and Birstwith. St James, Birstwith
St. James’ is a Church of England parish church at the heart of the beautiful village of Birstwith. We are a friendly worshipping community with a welcoming Sunday Club, a strong musical tradition including a robed choir and band, and a range of groups and activities.

We are part of a wider Benefice with Hampsthwaite, Killinghall and Felliscliffe and so there isn't a morning service every Sunday in Birstwith. Our monthly service schedule is below:
1st Sunday of the month - Evensong at 6.30pm (no Communion)
2nd Sunday of the month - Holy Communion at 10.30am with our church band, Sunday Club and Junior Choir (both term-time only)
3rd Sunday of the month - Evensong at 6.30pm (no Communion)
4th Sunday of the month - Holy Communion at 10.30am AND our 4pm Children's Service (for primary-aged children), which is an informal gathering in the St. James' Community Hall with snacks, activities, age-appropriate songs and worship and usually a little bit of dancing!
5th Sunday of the month - where there is a 5th Sunday the service moves around the Benefice so you would need to check our Benefice website - hkfb.co.uk
Morning services in Birstwith begin at 10.30 on the On the first and third Sunday there is an Evensong at 6.30pm (no Communion)
The entrance for less mobile people is through the Hall.
