For centuries, people have marked important times in their lives in church, things like a birth of a child, their marriage, or more sadly the death of a loved one. Even if you don't usually come to church, we want to encourage you to come for these special times which your local parish church is here to provide.
Arranging Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.
If you contact us about baptisms, weddings and funerals, you can be assured of a friendly and helpful response. If we can not fulfil your request ourselves, we promise to point you in the direction of another church which might be able to help you.
Baptism/Christening
Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God in the Christian faith which we hope will last a lifetime. We want to support and encourage you, and your child(ren), as we journey together in faith. Talk to our vicar Jenny about a date. We can do a traditional baptism, for anyone, or for adults or older children if you feel it's appropriate we can arrange a baptism by "full immersion." If you feel that having a child "christened" is not the right thing to do we also offer services of dedication. Contact us for more information.
Weddings
Our lovely church is the perfect setting for weddings, as well as celebratory services of prayer and/or blessings after a Civil Marriage. We will do all we can to make sure your special day is as joyous and memorable an occasion as possible. That includes supporting you in the preparations, both logistically as well as emotionally and spiritually. If you live within the parish boundary of Holy Apostles, Leicester, then it is usually a straightforward process to arrange a wedding in church. If you do not live within the parish boundary but have a connection with the parish or the church, then please do contact us.
Funerals
At this difficult time you may not be able to hold the funeral you would wish for at this time. We can offer a sympathetic ear and help you to have a memorial service if you would like at a later date for you and your family and friends to be able to honour and remember your loved one as you would wish to.
