During Lent we are encouraged to spend time in study and prayer. We will be running a Lent Course following the Embrace ME 2025 Lent course 'Hope in Hard Places'. On a Thursday Evening we meet at Christ the King (in the Foyer) from 7 - 8.30 pm.
In the first week we will be thinking about the topic 'For this child I prayed'
Our regular Sunday Eucharist at St. Luke's follows Common Worship Order 1 with hymns. The service lasts for approximately 1 hour and is followed by tea, coffee and often cake.
On the first Sunday of the month their is the opportunity to receive prayer for healing. This is confidential and led by experienced and trained members of the congregation. Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month we host a 'Drop in Cafe' at Saint Luke's Church Hall, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cake.
Coffee or Tea, Cake and a chance to meet old and new friends.
During Lent we are invited to walk with Jesus on his final journey from condemnation by Pilate to burial in the tomb. We can do this by walking the 'Way of the Cross' sometimes called the 'Via Dolorosa' or way of sorrows. Each time we do this we will follow a different theme so each week will have a different focus.
The stations take approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a simple lunch of soup and bread with donations towards the work of Christian Aid.

The Annunciation celebrates the visit of the Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary at which she is invited to bear the infant Jesus. We will be holding a simple Eucharist at St. Luke's Church at 12 pm (after the Tuesday morning Lent Group) and will be followed by a simple Soup and Bread lunch with donations for Christian Aid

During Lent we are invited to walk with Jesus on his final journey from condemnation by Pilate to burial in the tomb. We can do this by walking the 'Way of the Cross' sometimes called the 'Via Dolorosa' or way of sorrows. On Thursday 3rd April we will be hosting an 'Interactive Stations of the Cross'. At each station there will be an action to go with what they represent.
They will be self guided to leave as much or as little time as you wish at each station, but we recommend leaving about 1 hour. From 9.30 am - 12 pm the 'Drop in Cafe' will be running so treat yourself before or after to a drink and piece of cake.

On Sunday 4th May we will be holding our Annual Meeting of Parishioners (for the election of Churchwardens) and our Annual Parochial Church Meeting. They will take place in St. Luke's Church Hall at 11:45 am, following a joint Eucharist. The meeting will be followed by a bring and share lunch.
