Getting here
St Martin's is a friendly, growing, welcoming church with a core congregation of around 70 worshippers in a village of just under 800 people. Good choir, study groups, warm fellowship and lovely social events. We are privileged to be custodians of the burial place of Sir Winston Churchill, and welcome thousands of visitors from around the world every year. We do ask visitors to remember that, although a figure of international stature, Sir Winston's resting place is a private, family grave, and you are asked not to leave memorabilia or flowers.
We have a new children's church, plus lots of other plans and minsitries. Do come and find out more. Our website is full of useful information.
If you are particuarly interested in Sir Winston, then you will want to see our new stained glass window in commemoration of him, unveiled by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in 2015. Lady Soames, Churchill's longest-living child, bequeathed her Garter banner to us, which hangs on the west wall of the church.
