Our Building

The only stained glass window in Longford church was donated by Thomas and Anne’s children, friends and the parishioners (of Hollington, Longford and Rodsley) and is in memory Thomas and Anne. It was dedicated on All Saint's Day, 1st Nov 1900. Thomas Anchitel Anson was the rector at Longford church between 1850 until his death in 1899.

The church is generally open between about 9.30am and 3.30pm. (Winter generally only open on Wednesdays and Sundays).

St Chad's has a Grade 1 listing. The earliest parts of the building are Norman and date from 12th century. There is a large wall mounted memorial to the agriculturalist Thomas Coke of Holkham, Norfolk who died aged 90 while visiting Longford in 1842 and earlier alabaster monuments to the Longfords.

Music and Worship

The organ is played at most of our services.

The Long Lane Choir sing at Harvest Festival, our Carol Service and united benefice services, and on some other occasions.
