St Chad’s Church dates from the 12th century, with original Norman features and later additions in the early Decorated style and during the Perpendicular period. It is a Grade I Listed Building within the Longford Conservation Area. Inside the church are five alabaster effigies of various members of the Longford family, dating from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and elaborate memorials to the Coke family (Earl of Leicester) from the 19th century. There is also a Grade II listed sandstone cross in the churchyard, dating from the 15th century.
