The Parish Church of St Michael & All Angels, Church Broughton

Welcome to The Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, Church Broughton. The church which gives our village its name is a beautiful listed building dating in part from around 1100 (including our font). It was much extended and rebuilt in the 14th century, probably around the time that Black Death devastated England, and lightly renovated in the 19th century. In the heart of our village, it sits peacefully in its large churchyard, with lovely views to the rear. The churchyard is full of flowers in spring and early summer and contains war graves.

Revd Edward Whittaker is Parish Priest for our church, along with other members of the Appletree Churches grouping in the parishes of Boylestone, Hatton and Hilton with Marston-on-Dove.

Services at Church Broughton can be found here and local events can be found on the Church Broughton Village website: www.churchbroughton.com

The church is open for private prayer at any time.

Come away to a quiet place by yourselves and rest awhile (Mark 6:31)

Safeguarding

The parish of Church Broughton : St Michael & All Angels is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Derby’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of us all, whether they are in the communities in which we live or part of our Christian family. If you have a concern about a child, young person or adult who may be at risk of harm please speak to one of the parish safeguarding coordinators or the priest within the parish.

If you have concerns about a member of the clergy or an employee of the Diocese please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team on 01332 388678 or one of the Archdeacons. You can also report any concerns to the Police or Social Care. The important thing is that your concerns are shared with someone in a position to help. For more information please see the Safeguarding page on the Diocese of Derby's website.

Remember: “Call 999 if a child or adult is in immediate danger of significant or serious harm”
