Martham St. Mary the Virgin is a mediaeval church* with a 98ft tower and a ring of 6 bells**, the present building being finished around 1450. There are magnificent views over the eastern Norfolk Broads and North Sea coast from the tower, open during special events.
It is the largest church in the westernmost benefice in the Flegg Group of the Deanery of Great Yarmouth.
St. Mary's Martham is a part of a family of churches in the Flegg Parish Churches Team Ministry. The Team is spilt into three districts, Flegg North, Flegg East, and Flegg South. St. Mary's is a part of the Flegg North district along with Ss. Peter & Paul, Repps cum Bastwick, All Saints, Horsey, St. Mary's, West Somerton, and Holy Trinity and All saints, Winterton on Sea.
