Old Kea Church

Old Kea is a chapel of ease within the parish of St Kea. Many appreciate the peaceful location and the long history of Christian worship which dates back 1500 years. Saint Kea died in (or around) 495AD but a monastery is known to have existed here since at least 500AD, mentioned in the Domesday Book. The Victorian chapel stands beside the site of the former Kea Church and the 15th Century tower, once a part of this, is still standing in the churchyard. The chapel is open daily for visits and can also be made available for groups and events.

Evening prayer services take place at Old Kea on the third Sunday of each month at 3.30pm (except Easter Day and Christmas Day, both 8.30am) and rotate between using Common Worship and the Book of Common Prayer.

Safeguarding

We take seriously the safety and wellbeing of all volunteers, employees, guests and visitors to the church. We pay particular attention to the care of vulnerable adults and children.

If for any reason you have cause for concern over the care and welcome we are providing vulnerable people, please do not hesitate to contact our Safeguarding Coordinator Dr Alan Stanhope 01872 862397 or our Vicar, Rev Marc Baker 01872 260134.

Alternatively you might like to speak with someone outside of the parish, in which case contact Sarah Acraman, Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser 01872 27435.

Out of hours please phone 01208 251300 for an urgent safeguarding response from Social Care, or if you believe somebody is at immediate risk of harm please phone the police on 999.
