Old Kea is a chapel of ease within the parish of St Kea. Many appreciate the peaceful location and the long history of Christian worship which dates back 1500 years. Saint Kea died in (or around) 495AD but a monastery is known to have
existed here since at least 500AD, mentioned in the Domesday Book. The Victorian chapel stands beside the site of the former Kea Church and the 15th Century tower, once a part of this, is still standing in the churchyard. The chapel is open daily for visits and can also be made available for groups and events.
Evening prayer services take place at Old Kea on the third Sunday of each month at 3.30pm (except Easter Day and Christmas Day, both 8.30am) and rotate between using Common Worship and the Book of Common Prayer.
