Come and join us for a Benefice service as we remember Jesus' last supper with his disciples and share in foot washing. We finish the service by stripping the altar which symbolises the disciples who abandoned Jesus and the stripping of Jesus by the soldiers before his crucifixion.

St Clement's Ashampstead

A much loved Grade 1 listed church in a lovely part of the country: St Clement’s stands at the heart of Ashampstead village. We are very blessed to have some of the most exciting medieval wall paintings in the country in our church. They were rediscovered here, unseen since the reformation of Henry VIII, in the 19th century and delight visitors from far and wide. That said however; St Clement’s is no museum….we are an active, lively community of all ages and we offer you a warm welcome to any of our regular services.

St. Clement's enjoys being part of a benefice with two other churches. Which means that we have strong relationships with St. Mary's in Aldworth and St. Stephens in Upper Basildon. Collectively we are called 'the benefice' and we are thrilled to have a wonderful and dedicated ministry team that lead services across all three churches. Please check out our website for more details about the whole of our church life, including online services during the Covid-19 pandemic: www.thebenefice.uk

St Clement’s is open every day during daylight hours, free parking is directly outside the church and facilities are available in the adjacent village hall during services. Our services vary in length between 40 and 60 minutes. There is a modern P.A. and hearing loop sound system, we use service sheets to guide the proceedings and it would be lovely to welcome new faces!

The parish of Ashampstead is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
