The St Edmund's German-style Christmas fair was held on Saturday 30th November. We wish to thank everyone involved in the Christmas fair for making it a successful event, Thanks especially go to the planning team and everyone who contributed in any way - providing cakes, items or manning the stalls -- and of course it would not have been a success if no-one had turned up - so thanks also go to everyone who joined us on the day - We hope everyone enjoyed the music, crafts, things to eat and drink etcThe light tunnel looked amazing once it got dark outside! The journey to Christmas has now well and truly begun.
Sunday 3rd November 2019 we collected Christmas Shoeboxes as part of the Blythswood appeal. (see the photo)A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the shoe box appeal. We appreciate your generosity. These shoeboxes are now on their way to the Blythswood collection centre so they can be distributed for Christmas.Shoeboxes are sent to people of different ages in the poorest parts Eastern Europe and beyond for Christmas. The boxes are filled with a variety of items to bring warmth and cheer to people who have very little. The shoe boxes have a wonderful impact on the lives of their recipients. They help to assure these people that they are remembered, prayed for and loved by the Lord. Our prayer for those receiving the shoeboxes is that they know God loves them, just as he loves each of us so deeply.
We are fortunate to have a team of very talented people who decorated the church with amazing displays of flowers and produce. The arrangements will be in church for a while if you want to come along and see the beauty created.
Sunday 6th October 2019 we held 2 harvest services as follows 8 am Holy Communion - stay for coffee and cake10am All Together celebration of Harvest- followed by refreshmentsThe services gave us time to reflect on the hope and healing that the lord brings to our world through the love of Jesus. We reflected on the reading from Revelation 22:2“On either side of the river is the tree of life …. and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations”Trees are fascinating. Their leaves enable us to breathe and live. Their branches fill our landscapes and arch over our lives. With all that is threatening our beautiful world we are reminded of our responsibility to care for this world because it is not ours but belongs to the Lord and is for everyone. At both services we collected gifts of food and money for the Norwich foodbank
