Youth for Christ “are looking for a host for one of our gap years who starts in September. The host needs to be able to provide a room and meals and we can pay £40 a week towards their living costs and are on hand should a host have any concerns they want to talk through. If you know anyone who could offer a place to stay for the academic year then we can arrange a visit to talk through everything. Our Facebook page has about the difference the year makes”.
Tools With A Mission who collect tools and other items to send to people who need them in Africa, are in great need of haberdashery items . There are comprehensive lists and contact information at the back of St Eds if anyone has anything they can donate. Many thanks. Paul Scarff
‘Discover your church’ Day on Saturday 12th August from 11am til 3pm. We will be welcoming as many from our community as possible for refreshments, craft activities for children, hearing the organ played, a heritage trail and other activities. Part of this will be to highlight the organ, the East window, and the thatched chancel that are all in need of repair. There are fascinating stories behind St Ed’s. to interest everyone in our community. if you feel you can help on the day please let Rev Paul or the Churchwardens know.
Bible groups – we have a range and variety of different groups meeting together to read God’s word and to pray together. The groups are a great encouragement in our discipleship of Jesus. A number of the groups have vacancies. if you are interested in joining a group, please speak to Rev Paul.
