Getting here
St Mary's underwent a major reordering during 2009, transforming the building and invigorating the congregation. For more details, visit our website or come and see for yourself.
St Mary's is the Civic Church and is in the centre of the town.
The main Common Worship Sunday morning services are held here, usually at 10am: 8 am BCP Communion and 6.30 pm BCP Sung Evensong with robed choir is held at St Leonard's church. St Mary's is also the venue for special services (Remembrance, Mayor's Sunday, Nine Lessons and Carols ...)
There are activities in the church every morning and coffee is served on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon. There are other activities on offer - visit the website, or come in and look at the displays of what we do, not just on Sundays but through the week.
The tower has a ring of 10 bells. There is a large choir (about 50+) which includes a thriving group of children.
Although we try to ensure that this site is up-to-date, please go to our website, where you will find a copy of our latest pew sheet. The pew sheet is published weekly and is usually on the site on Friday. It contains up-to-date information on the services for Sunday and the latest Team news.
