About Us

A welcoming and friendly church in the heart of Nottingham, St Mary's offers Christian worship through both more traditional and contemporary services, with our acclaimed choir. 

St Mary's is situated in the heart of Nottingham's historic lace market., and is the oldest religious foundation in Nottingham, the current church being the third on the site. Building work commenced around 1377, the nave was completed in 1475 and the tower shortly afterwards.

St Mary's has a wide ministry to many different groups. As well as its civic status it is also the university church for the University of Nottingham, and several schools and organisations hold annual services here.

The Choir of St Mary's is regarded as one of the finest in the region and operates a flourishing choral scholarship scheme for students in full time education.
