News from St Keyne Church November 2024 In our prayers are Margaret in hospital and Christine still recovering at home. We thank God that Margaret's stroke was early on a Sunday morning so we missed her at Church and were able to find her and get help immediately. Services over Christmas include two Christingles - one specifically for the school and another by request for children and parents from the village, including those who are now regulars at Messy Church. Some children will get double sweets! Sunday 8th December Carol Service 7pm (No morning service) Sunday 15th December Holy Communion 9.30am Christingle Service 5pm Wednesday 18th December Polperro Fishermen’s Choir 7.30pm Friday 20th December Messy Church Christmas, Village Hall 3pm Sunday 22nd December Café Service 9.30am Tuesday 24th December Christmas Eve Holy Communion 9.30pm We are looking forward to the kitchen and toilet facilities being installed in the church along with mains water.
The Acting Bishop of Truro, the Rt Revd Hugh Nelson is pleased to announce that the Revd Mark Wade, at present Team Vicar in the Benefice of Wigan in the Diocese of Liverpool is to be Vicar/Oversight Minister in the Benefice of Liskeard and St Keyne in the Diocese of Truro. This is conditional on legal formalities being completed.This a Simeons appointment as Patron and he will be licensed at a place and on a date to be arranged.Mark would like to share the following message:“We are all very excited to be coming back home to Cornwall for Mark after growing up in west Cornwall my dad was a Vicar in a number of different places across the diocese. I left Cornwall 20 years ago so looking forward to coming back and see if I can still surf too! We are looking forward to working across the Benefice and the deanery in this new exciting role. I am looking forward to serving and getting to know you all. We hoping to move at the end of August so Izzy, Asa and Imogen can start School in September.
