In 2020 St Sampson’s Church found new ways of doing things and welcomed new people through its doors. We more or less mastered zoom technology and have been grateful for our gentle, rural setting. Despite the limitations of the pandemic, we atonishingly raised £150,000 towards the £500,000 target of our St Sampson’s Unlocked project. The dream is becoming a reality for the restoration. God is good. We have mains water at last, the font has been moved and three pews gone from the back of the church, leaving a wonderful space for hospitality. Window work will start later this year. Plans, permissions and more funding applications are in progress. Many thanks to everyone for their support. We are an amazing community here at South Hill and our church members are proud and humbled to be part of it. We look forward to many celebratory services and events this year, when it is safe to meet in larger numbers.
