This meeting may be attended by:
1. All persons whose names are entered on the church electoral roll of the parish; and
2. The persons resident in the parish whose names are entered on a register of local government electors by reason of such residence
Section 3 of the Churchwardens Measure 2001 restricts the eligibility for a churchwarden to be elected to the same Parish to 6 years. Therefore, currently anyone who has served as a churchwarden for six consecutive years cannot be re-elected and must take at least a two year break before re-appointment.
However, Section 3 continues in that a Meeting of the Parishioners can vote to opt out of this restriction in advance of any such candidate standing for election and that any such resolution to opt out can be revoked by a subsequent meeting of the parishioners.
