Plough Sunday 2025

Plough Sunday is fast becoming a high light of the year at Tremaine. Rev Canon Olive Stephens led a lovely service which had many people involved doing readings or intercessions: Tim Hopper, Tom Hopper, Emily Hollington, Duncan Tilly and Kate Gilead. Verna Jones played for the hymns. Ploughs brought by Anthony Retallack and his grandson Alfie Hollington were blessed as were a number of garden tools. Flower and vegetable seeds were also blessed and the congregation took these home afterwards. As so often at Tremaine the sun shone even though the weather in the run up to the service had been very poor. After the service Sarah Hopper and Audrey Retallack provided tea coffee and biscuits for everyone.
