A delightful evening of music at St Winwaloe’s Church, Tremaine on July 1st as members of the local community displayed considerable musical talent. A widely varied range of instruments and music was played, starting with the youngest performer on keyboard with a rendition of Assassin’s Creed (from a computer game) to a clarinet duet playing Hayden. Different flautists were accompanied on keyboard or cello, and some mesmerising music was played on the cello. Everyone joined in some singing following some singers from North Petherwin who had sung ‘I’d like to teach the world to sing’. The evening was rounded off by a sax quartet who started with classical pieces moved into beautiful renditions of the Phil Collin’s ‘Groovy kinda loving’ and the’ Londonderry Air’ before ending up with ‘The Pink Panther’! The performers Callum, Wendy, Kate, Sophie, Tamsin, Sue, Nicki, Toby and Edward and singers Jo, Nick, Jane and Caroline were warmly applauded at the end. Verna provided refreshments and had made some of her delicious cheese straws so everyone lingered to chat and discuss the evening.
