On November 29th 1427 a commission was held to see if the Church had been polluted by bloodshed in a quarrel between Joan, wife of William Langdon, and Elinore, wide of R Tremayne. A declaration was made that no pollution had been sustained!
In 1796 prayer books were bought to celebrate "a plentiful harvest and the victory of his Majesty's fleet". Presumably this had been a battle of the Napoleonic Wars.
In the 1800s Church accounts refer to liquor being bought for tradesmen!
