Join us at St Paternus Church as we celebrate our Gift Day this summer!
From 10.30am the church will be buzzing with people mending, fixing, cutting, trimming, cleaning, tidying. Everyone is invited to join us and contribute what you can to make the church sparkle!
This is also an opportunity to consider how you can help financially. Everything you contribute helps to keep our church running – from paying the electricity bill, to caring for bell ropes, whatever you can gift will make sure that St Paternus Church is here and beautiful for future generations. A huge thank you to everyone who already helps us with their time and their money – we could not keep our church open every day without your generosity.
Even the smallest children can help chase out spiders! So please accept our invitation to join us as follows:
10.30am – working party All ages welcome! Find a job small or large to suit your abilities
From 12pm – pasty lunch provided as a thank you for your time. If you know you are coming, it would really help us if you could book your pasty, to give us an idea of numbers required. But there will be plenty of spare pasties 😊
2.30pm – Organ Recital by Organ Scholar Edward Lancaster. Edward is a University student studying maths. He learned the organ under Robin Stubbs at St Mary’s Church, and now receives lessons with Dr Sean Sweeney. He will delight us with a selection of music to suit all tastes, from Bach to Widor. There could just be a surprise appearance from the popular Harry Potter films, and Thomas the Tank Engine…
4pm – our day closes with a short Pet Blessing. All pets welcome – if the weather is good we will meet outside so that all sizes of pet can be part of our service. Please park elephants considerately! We would appreciate animals being properly housed or controlled, to avoid problems with pets fighting.
Thank you once again for your time, and your money, helping to keep St Paternus running for another year!
