Through the enormous generosity and hard work of the local community, together with donations from local charities, the total amount raised so far is over £106,000. Tenders for the Stage 1 work have been received and are being analysed before appointing a contractor. Detailed plans have been submitted for planning permission and a diocesan faculty. We expect these permissions to be in place by the end of October. A bat survey has been completed. The results will determine which time of year the work can be done. Once permissions are in place we can apply for major grants from national charities and other grant-giving organisations that donate to heritage projects to achieve our Stage 1 target. We hope that Stage 1 work will start in Spring 2025. Stage 2 costings have not yet been established. Once we have those we will be applying to community-orientated organisations for further funding.
