About Us
Welcome to the Parish Church of St Hydroc, Lanhydrock in the Bodmin Team Ministry.
St Hydroc's is located within a small rural parish and next to Lanhydrock House which is a National Trust property. It offers a warm welcome to visitors from all over the world to this beautiful setting. The Parish Church is a place of prayer and tranquility, which is enjoyed not only by its regular parishioners but also by the many visitors to the house. It has the advantage of a generous parking area within a short walk of the church.
SUNDAY SERVICE. Worship takes place every Sunday at 9.45am, except on Remembrance Sunday when it starts at 10am. Services are taken from the Book of Common Prayer and follow the pattern of Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and Morning Prayer (Matins) on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
BAPTISMS. We are always delighted to baptise (or christen) infants, children and adults into the family of the church. There are no fees associated with this service. Baptisms at St Hydroc usually take place on a Sunday either during the 9.45 am morning service or at 11.30 once the morning service has concluded.
Enquiries about baptisms at St Hydroc should be made, in the first instance, through the Parish Office. The telephone number is 01208 77674 and there is someone in the office on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am and 3pm.
WEDDINGS. Because of its setting within the grounds of Lanhydrock house, St Hydroc's is a popular church for couples wishing to marry. Most weddings take place on a Saturday but if you would like to be married on another day during the week then that can usually be arranged. Initial enquiries about marrying at St Hydroc's church should be made to the Revd Roger May (01579 342924). There are certain legal requirements and he will be happy to discuss those with you. He can also discuss the available options should you be divorced.
