Maundy Thursday - Tenebrea Service

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Wenn: St Wenna
Address
St Wenn Truro, PL30 5PS, United Kingdom

The meal will start at 18h30 and we invite everybody to bring a small plate of eats to share before we hold the Tenebrae service.
Tenebrae is a service of shadows and we will follow the story of the hours leading to Jesus’ death using readings, music and times of silence. As the service progresses candles will be extinguished. The darkness will deepen as we hear Jesus’ disciples becoming more distant and the sense of Jesus’ impending trial and crucifixion become more real. The service ends in the dark and in complete silence as we recall Jesus’ death on the cross.

St Wenn: St Wenna

We would like to offer a big welcome to everyone, whether you live locally or are visiting the Parish. If you are interested in holding a Christening, Wedding or Funeral, please contact a Churchwarden initially.

ABOUT US:

We are a small rural church serving those living around the parishes of St Wenn, Rosenannon and Tregonetha and are very happy to welcome visitors of any age.  We normally hold services on Sundays at 10am and these are either Morning Prayer, Family Service or Communion (which is normally on the 3rd Sunday). The 5th Sunday is shared with Withiel, so please ask for details

We hold many activities during the month so please look for details in the Parish Magazine.
