Lectio usually takes the form of three readings of a text, the first simply to listen attentively without doing any more and after the second to listen again and ask ourselves "what stands out for me, are there any particular words that I notice more than others, what is most significant here, how does this make me feel?" Then, after a third reading, we go round the group for responses, comments, observations, etc. It is not 'Bible Study in the traditional sense but it is a simple and effective way to open the heart and mind to God's word and to trust that the Holy Spirit is at work among us.
