Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding because we all have the right to be treated with respect and live lives free from abuse and neglect. This is fundamental to our Christian faith and our parishes are committed to these values through our safeguarding policies, training, and safe recruitment procedures. We promote a culture where people are aware of safeguarding issues, recognise the importance of vigilance and are open-minded and honest. We want to be a community where all feel safe, secure and respected and where their viewpoints are valued.
If you are worried about the safety and welfare of someone you know, please talk to the parish Safeguarding Officer for St Issey & Little Petherick: Avril Heard, 01841 541135; or the Rector when appointed.
If you have been abused or neglected in the past and would like to talk about it, the Diocese of Truro offers a service called Listening to Survivors of Abuse. Contact Sarah Acramen on 01872 274351, e-mail [email protected] or after 5pm and at weekends: 01208 251300
