Funerals, Burials and Cremation
A funeral is used to mark the end of a person's life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God's keeping. A funeral can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a full church.
All parishioners are entitled to have a funeral, memorial or celebration of life service in their local church, and to be buried or to have their ashes buried (interred) in their local parish churchyard if the church yard is 'open' to new burials or cemetry by arrangement with their local parish priest.
Funerals can be held in St Michael Penevil Church or by the graveside, alternatively the service can be held at Pen Mount Crematorium.
If you wish to arrange a service at St Michael Penkevil Church, in the first instance contact a funeral director who will in turn contact the Church to arrange the availability of the church.

Some people like to plan ahead often creating their own Order of service in the event of their death, if you would like support to do this please contact our parish priest Revd Caroline Husband
