Welcome to the parish church of Hayle: St Elwyn in the Anglican Diocese of Truro and county of Cornwall England. St Elwyn is one of the five churches which is encompassed within the Godrevy Team Ministry. Visit The Godrevy Team Ministry web site using the link in Pages and Links.
St Elwyn’s is a Victorian church (Grade 2*) situated in the Foundry area of Hayle, close to the beach and harbour. It was built in 1886 to a design by John Dando Sedding, who later designed Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, London. A key feature of St Elwyn's Church is the magnificent 'Friendship Window', designed by Clayton & Bell in 1933, which covers most of the west wall.
Our Services:
On Sunday, at our 9:30am Sung Eucharist, we follow the Anglo-Catholic tradition; with liturgical ceremony and the offering of incense. We end with the Angelus and ringing of the Church Bell.
On Wednesday,at 10;00am we have a shorter Said Eucharist, gathered more informally in the Choir Stalls. This Service lasts for about half an hour, and is suitable for all ages.
On the fifth Sunday of the month there is a joint Team Worship, rotated between our five Team Churches.
Opening Times:
We endeavour to open the Church daily (except Saturday), between approx 10:00am and 4:00pm, for you to enjoy our beautiful historic building, or to have time for quiet prayer.
If you are travelling from a distance, it is advisable to ring our Church Warden, and we will make every effort to have the Church open for you.
