Christmas Bells

Occuring
for 3 hours, 30 mins
Venue
Constantine: St Constantine
Address
Constantine Falmouth, TR11 5AW, United Kingdom

Th bells of St Constantine church will ring out on 19 December to get the village Christmas celebrations off to a flying start. A highly skilled team of ringers from around West Cornwall will attempt to ring a full peal from approximately 10.00am finishing at around 1.30pm.
A peal is a continuous sequence of 5,040 changes which give the ultimate test of a ringer's concentration and stamina, akin to running a marathon. The ringers commit to memory one or more methods which are patterns of changes which have been developed over hundreds of years. This is all done with no visual aids or help from any person not ringing at he time. They are usually rung to mark a church festival or other special event.
Constantine ringers are always on the lookout for new recruits. If you are interested in finding out more please pop along on a Tuesday evening at 7pm but please check with the Tower Secretary Jane Mann on 01326 375502 just in case we have had to cancel the practice.
