St Laudus, Mabe

Welcome to our website and, we hope, to our church. It is set in a beautiful location a mile out of the village overlooking Argal Reservoir. You are very welcome at any of our services or just to pay a visit to the church and churchyard. Because of its isolated location the church building cannot be kept open daily but is often open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursdays.

We form one parish with St Michael's church in Ponsanooth and we alternate our Sunday services between the two churches. The dates and times of services, and where they take place, are set out on a notice board in the church car park and also on this website (Services and Events).

You will be made very welcome at any of our services. Our style of worship is relaxed. Our congregation tend to be unpretentious in their manner and dress and are very willing to accept you as you are.

We host various fundraising events, mostly musical but also some illustrated talks. Rather than charge admission we invite donations and the proceeds are often divided between church funds and a nominated charity.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Mabe is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Truro’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Mary Weston by calling 01326 372462 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor via [email protected] or by calling 01872 274351 (after 5pm and weekends: 01208 251300).
