Beekeeper Rodger Dewhurst will give a talk 3-4pm on the rare Cornish black bee, followed by tea and cake. Roger has spent his life breeding and studying this indigenous, hard-working bee and has made many fascinating discoveries which explain its productivity and its resilience to the deadly varroa mite. In a rapidly changing world, it is more important than ever to understand and protect these key indigenous species. Donations invited to help cover expenses and to go towards church funds.
