Thank you for visiting our page. We alternate our friendly Sunday services between St. Laudus (Mabe) and St. Michael's (Ponsanooth) and start at 10am unless stated otherwise. We hold either a 'Holy Communion' or a 'Service of the Word' service. Communion services are led by local clergy and Morning Prayer services are led by our lay person. Following the services, all are welcome to stay for refreshments (coffee, tea, cake or biscuits). We sing traditional hymns, and have an excellent organist, along with a small complement of local bell-ringers. All are welcome!

I was challenged a few years ago (bearing in mind that I'm from an open evangelical background) by the centrality of the Eucharist in mission. In response, I've begun to develop a rhythm of Holy Communion at Fairwinds, as well as prayer. Each 1st & 3rd Tuesday and 2nd and 4th Thursday of normal term time at 9.15 am there is the opportunity to come together to celebrate Holy Communion at Fairwinds, with mission and justice as a theme (we'll never run out of Bible passages for that!); the methodist church is also hoping to join with this as well as other churches of differing denominations if that so wish. I have written a liturgy (enclosed) that both uses Common Worship, and where there is flexibility permitted, the themes of mission and justice are drawn upon.

Whilst I appreciate of course that churches will wish to keep their own midweek worship, I'm hoping that as many as possible will feel able to participate together in unity around a shared table in surroundings that are different for some perhaps.

Each Wednesday there will also be prayer at Fairwinds from 9 am - 10 am that all are welcome to join in with. This will have a missional focus and be instantaneous in nature (ie there will be no framework of liturgy used) and will draw upon what has been happening during the previous week.

Tuesday 1st and 3rd of month 9.15am, Wednesday weekly at 9.00am, Thursday 2nd and 4th month 9.10am Term time only

Sunday Zoom Service

Occurring
Monthly. Every First Sunday at for 30 mins
Venue
St Laudus, Mabe
Address
Church Road, Mabe Burnthouse, TR10 9JG, United Kingdom

On the first Sunday of the month at 4.00pm I am running a Sunday Zoom Service for people who are housebound or struggling to get to regular church services. If you know anyone who would value attending it is very small, friendly and supportive and takes about 30 mins. I can visit the person first if they would like me to and explain how to connect to the service with their electronic devices. The next service will be 7th January at 4.00pm.
