The deanery have agreed to use the Leading your Church into Growth local programme to engage with the parishes on the question of the future of the Church in our deanery. There will be 5 Leading your Church into Growth Days starting in January 2020. The days will be held at the Penmorvah Manor Hotel. Everyone from the congregations is invited to attend these days and invitations will be sent out in due course. All the clergy will be attending these days to work with their congregations. Alongside these days, the clergy will be attending some residential 'colleges':College 1 – Focus on Tell (evangelism) and Teach (discipleship)College 2 – Focus on Tend (social action) and Transform (social justice) and Treasure (valuing creation)College 3 – What should the Church look like in the light of what we’ve discovered in Colleges 1 & 2?College 4 – How are we going to lead the change? This programme is about us planning the future of the church of God together. And together, we - and the church of tomorrow - will have more of a chance of being the church that God wants us to be!
Bishop Philip will launch our AMD (Accompanied Ministry Development) programme at a Deanery Synod meeting on Thursday 24th October, 7pm, at All Saints Church Falmouth. This will be an open meeting and everyone is welcome. AMD is a way of us as a deanery reviewing where we're all coming from, looking at our strengths and needs, and planning together for the future. The evening will also be an opportunity to meet our new Bishop. Please put the date in your diary!
Sponsoring a slate means that for a donation of £10, you ‘sponsor’ a slate which you can dedicate to a person, perhaps a loved one, living or departed; or a cause that is close to your heart, for instance The Alzheimer’s Society, and you can sponsor as many slates as you wish.Your name/s and dedication/s will be inserted in a special book which will be kept in church in perpetuity. In doing this you are not only helping to preserve the legacy of this ancient place of worship, but you are also helping to keep alive a vital aspect of our community’s spiritual life at a time when spiritual things seem to be of little account. Please get in touch if you'd like a slate or print off and fill in the attached form.
The Campaign for Equal Marriage in the Church of England was formally launched in April 2019 to campaign for changes in the Church to remove the current discrimination against married same-gender couples in the Church and to enable same-gender couples to be married in their parish church – in other words, for all married or engaged couples to be treated the same, no matter what their gender, sex or sexual orientation. To sign the letter click herehttps://www.cofe-equal-marriage.org.uk/support-the-campaign/sign-our-letter/?v=79cba1185463
