Insects released from a light trap set overnight 7th to 8th of June by Dougy Wright: 1 Poplar Hawk-moth, 3 Elephant Hawk-moth, 2 Lobster Moth, Rusty-dot Pearl, Common Carpet, 4 Marbled Minor, 7 Buff Ermine, Snout, Green Carpet, 3 Cinnamon Sedge, Willow Beauty, 2 Mottled Beauty, 2 Dark Sword-grass, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 2 Grey Pug, Purple Bar, Beautiful Golden Y, Burnished Brass, Riband Wave, Angle Shades, Middle-barred Minor, Flame Shoulder, Ingrailed Clay, Small Square-spot, White Ermine.
Other insects: Painted Lady (9th and 23rd); Large White, Speckled Wood, many Meadow Browns, Andrena sp. mining bee, Nomada sp. nomad bee, White-tailed Bumblebee (23rd); Emperor Dragonfly (30th).
Birds: Nuthatch, Goldfinch, Robin, Dunnock, Herring Gull, Rook, Jackdaw, Chiffchaff, Greenfinch, Blackcap, Song Thrush (both the last two still singing strongly on 23rd), Magpie, hen Pheasant (with young calling from the undergrowth at the bottom of the churchyard extension on 23rd), Swallow, House Martin, Blackbird, Wood Pigeon.
