Learning to Read Biblical Hebrew course that I'll be running from after the February half-term (i.e. starting Monday 19th Feb). The sessions will take place in Fairwinds, below KCM church on Market Street in Falmouth; classes will be 7.30pm-9pm weekly.

The course is free to attend - though participants will need to buy the textbook (Amazon or Abebooks). The textbook is "The First Hebrew Primer: The Adult Beginner Path to Biblical Hebrew) - it's £34 new on Amazon (here), or older versions (which are fine) on Abebooks - the textbook would last for up to 3 years of study. For the first 3 of our sessions together, there will be some, but minimal, use of the textbook so that people can try first before they commit.

St Peter's, Flushing

Welcome to the homepage of St Peter's, the Parish Church for the beautiful, friendly village of Flushing which stands on the edge of the Carrick Roads opposite Falmouth. Once home to the Captains of the Falmouth Packet Mail Ships, the village has a long association with the sea and is a popular sailing venue.

Our Church is made up of people from Flushing and beyond who have a background of Anglican, Methodist and Roman Catholic Churches. We work together to be a Christian presence in our village by serving God in the Church and Community. We support one another and those in need through pastoral care and charitable giving.

Throughout the year we raise funds for local projects such as the Penryn Foodbank and St Petrocs Society for Cornwall’s homeless, as well as looking beyond to the wider world with Christian Aid and our on-going sponsorship of a child in SOS Villages, Croatia.

Our Church is open most days for anyone to come in and spend time, as well as enjoy our lovely garden. There is a box in the porch for you to add prayer requests, which we are pleased to include on the following Sunday service.

On the 1st and 3rd Sundays we hold a service which we call Morning Prayer with hymns, readings, prayers and a short talk. These are led by either our Priest-in-Charge, Canon Andrew Stevenson, Morwenna Bennett or Colin Brown. We have a service of Holy Communion on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays in the month led by either Canon Andrew Stevenson or Revd Angela Brown.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Flushing is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer PSO, Mary Stevenson.

Our Diocese of Truro’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact our PSO Mary Stevenson on 01872 241880, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
