Are you one of the 6 out of 10 people who hasn't made a Will, or you made it several years ago and your circumstances have changed?
For nearly 500 years the Church of England has encouraged people to make a Will as a simple act of good stewardship. Without a Will, your loved ones could face a lot of trouble, work and expense after your death. Without a Will, a court could decide how to distribute your goods and who should look after your children or dependents.
So we encourage every adult to:
1) Make a Will and review it regularly
2) Consider leaving a gift (a legacy) to the parish
3) Download the Church of England information pack.
St Mary Magdalene
Here at St Mary Magdalene, Westerfield, we depend on the generosity of our congregation and community to enable us to further the work and outreach projects of the church.
A gift/legacy can help keep the church alive in our community, and transform its future. Please, think about it; pray about it; talk about it; find out more about it and then please act upon it.
We welcome all gifts in Wills, however large or small, and promise to use
your gift to make a difference to the parish. The Parochial Church Council's (PCC's) Legacy Policy is to use gifts to help fund development projects, whether they be buildings, equipment or staff.
You can be confident that your gift/legacy will be used to make a real difference to our future mission and ministry.
If you’d like to talk to someone in confidence about the sorts of purposes your gift might fund, and how or if you’d like your gift acknowledged, please contact:
• Judy Northfield (Churcchwarden) on 01473 230188 email [email protected]
• Mary Scholey (Churchwarden) on 07516 574738 email [email protected]
