Facilities and features

Accessibility

The chapel has a single toilet, approached down a flight of stairs.

Assistance dogs will be welcome

Our Building

The Chapel is a member of the Small Pilgrim Places Network (https://smallpilgrimplaces.org); and welcomes all who come for its peace and quiet, whether that be for prayer, contemplation, or just to work things out & catch breath in God's presence. Arrangements can be made for access outside our normal times of opening.

This chapel has been a place of worship since the late 11th century; & was rebuilt in the late 15th century, since when there have been refurbishments and extensions in the 18th century, and major repairs after it was bombed during the 2nd World War.

The chapel is heated during winter months during open hours.

Music and Worship

We boast two bells, which are usually tolled on Sundays by ad hoc volunteers before the 10a.m. Sung Eucharist

The "local" Jerome Recorders; and other visitors present Concerts from time to time. A voluntary Choir (from the Congregation and others) leads (usually Festival) Services particularly at Christmas and at choral evensongs.

The Chapel has a 3 manual Viscount Prestige Classical 80 organ which has 57 tab stops, 32 note radiating concave pedalboard, wood veneer console.

Groups, Courses and Activities

Members of the Chapel Congregation support and help with the Bath Churches Food Bank, and support many other Good Causes locally and farther afield. Volunteers also help to maintain our Garden and Churchyard - which affords a spectacular view of the City to workers and visitors alike. "The Casting Out" is a Group of statues in the Churchyard, reminding us of the origins of the Chapel, and a focus for our life now.
