A good crowd of over 30 people in 13 teams gathered round their computers on Saturday night to pit their wits against each other and answer some of the quizmaster’s questions in our second online Lockdown Quiz Night for Hargrave Church. It was lovely to see and spend time with friends from Hargrave, Hawkedon, Chevington, and Depden, its been a while!
In the topsy-turvey world of lockdown old certainties no longer old sway, with our commiserations to team DeLaat, down to Jill at one point, battling for the prize. It was a close run contest, with the top two teams being within a point of each other, and everyone scoring with 20 points of the leaders. After an early surge, Justin and Rich stumbled in the last round on Sport, and congratulations to John and Anne Ruston for a late Sport sprint which saw them come a close third, after Paul and Hannah King from Depden.
All credit to the Uptons for bringing it home with a top score of 55½. The top three won delicious Easter Eggs, delivered next day by an eager Easter Bunny.
Thanks to generous donations by all, nearly £270 was given in support of the church. Much more important was we all relaxed, had a good laugh, by David’s excellent questions and innovative round choices ‘2020 History’ and ‘Saturday’s’ anyone?
