About Us
As St Mary's Tuddenham has become part of the larger Forest Heath Team Ministry.
St Mary’s Church Tuddenham is a large, Grade 1 listed building, built in the 13th and 14th Centuries. It has no stained glass, which makes it a light and calm place in which to worship. The church is in the centre of the village and is open for visitors at weekends.
The congregation of St Mary’s Church, Tuddenham usually meets for Holy Communion at 9.30 am on the first Sunday each month, but this is currently suspended during the pandemic. Our regular congregation is quite small but we are a friendly bunch and welcome newcomers. At major festivals we have well attended family services where villagers; children and adults, help by taking part in the services.
An active ‘Friends of St Mary’s Church Tuddenham’ group is raising money to put toilet and kitchen facilities in the church. Concerts and other fundraisers organised by the ‘Friends’ have been well supported by the village and wider community. The church has a very good acoustic and we welcome opportunities to host musical events.
