The church was buzzing for a few days, as the necessary arrangements were made for the weekend wedding. The flowers were beautiful, the string quartet lovely to listen to, the organ music vibrant; altogether a lovely occasion which was a delight and a privilege to be a part of. St Mary's is just the right size building to be intimate for a small gathering but with the bonus of having enough room for at least 150 guests. The weather could have been kinder but didn't damped the spirits. It really was a lovely occasion and all at St Mary's, wish the newly weds a long and happy marriage.
We were SO fortunate after all the awful weather lately, to have a lovely sunny day at more or less the right temperature for those of us who like to describe ourselves as 'having lived longer'. We expected about a dozen people but were delighted when 20 folk, from both Padbury and Adstock, spent a very pleasant couple of hours 'chatting and chomping', not to mention drinking tea.We gather again next week, on Thursday, 17 August at St Mary's Church from 2 pm until 4 pm, to spend an afternoon relaxing and 'colouring in'. Of course there will be tea and cake and anybody is welcome to join us.
